The Temora Preschool Kindergarten opened in 1961 and operated at the Baptist Hall in Baker Street. The Preschool operated at this location for ten years. After much planning and decision making, the current building was erected and the Preschool was relocated to its existing position, on the corner of George and Loftus Streets. The official opening was held in 1971.
The Preschool ran as a one unit Preschool (one room) until 1995 when enough funds were raised to add the second unit (two rooms). This addition greatly expanded the Preschool with two classes running on the one day, and another teacher and assistant employed. It should be noted that the tireless fundraising of all committees throughout those years enabled the building of the initial Preschool, and then the second unit.
In 2011 the Centre built an Out of School Hours (OOSH) room onto one of the existing playrooms. The Preschool and OOSH is run by a volunteer parent committee that works tirelessly to ensure the centre maintains the quality service it has always provided.
